For an MSME loan, the promoter's CIBIL is the business's CIBIL
Lenders underwrite the people as much as the company. Director and promoter credit reports are pulled on every serious file — always with written consent.
Where the score bites
Below roughly 700, unsecured lending narrows sharply and pricing rises. A single settled account, a written-off card or a guarantee gone bad on someone else's loan can quietly sink an otherwise strong company file.
Consent is not a formality
Under the Credit Information Companies (Regulation) Act and the DPDP Act, 2023, a bureau report can only be pulled for a stated purpose with the individual's consent. Our registration captures a separate written consent from every director before anything is requested.
What we do with it
Scores are read by the credit desk, never displayed to third parties and never used for marketing. You receive an eligibility verdict and, where needed, a specific remediation list — close this card, regularise that EMI, wait one cycle.
Enquiries matter too
Applying to eight lenders yourself leaves eight hard enquiries and makes you look desperate to the ninth. One consented file, matched to the right lenders, protects the report you are trying to improve.
Start with a funding-readiness profile
Register your company once. The same consented profile is matched across lenders, investors, government schemes, partnerships and investment routes — and assessed on your CMR rank and director CIBIL records.
Questions we are asked
Does checking my CIBIL score reduce it?
A consumer checking their own report is a soft enquiry and does not affect the score. Multiple lender-initiated hard enquiries in a short window can lower it.
What CIBIL score is needed for a business loan in India?
Most lenders look for a promoter score of 700 or above for unsecured business lending; secured and scheme-backed routes can accommodate lower scores with conditions.
